Surebonder DT-280 Dual Temperature Full Size Glue GunReviewsThis is a great glue gun - much nicer to work with than the small mini-glue guns. The glue is more expensive but there is no waste like the minis. I use it for craft items and happy with the glue gun. This well-designed glue gun is a good choice for occasional use. It's lightweight (0.5 lbs), well-balanced, and a comfortable size: 7 inches long with a housing that tapers to less than an inch wide at the front. It has a full-size trigger that requires little effort and feeds continuously, not in steps, for better control. It has a plastic fold-down kickstand which is stable but unlikely to keep it upright if bumped, plus a separate plastic stand with a non-stick silicone drip pad. Its only control is a high-low temperature switch. No power switch, automatic cutoff, or thermostat. To turn it off, you unplug it. A light above the temp switch glows when its powered. Hot parts are well covered -- only 1/4" of the metal tip is exposed. Made in China; UL listed. Heats to maximum temperature in 5 minutes. Non-drip tip means glue doesn't stream out when it's idle; it does drip slightly, which is harmless especially if you use the separate stand. A 4" glue stick goes almost all the way into the barrel. When first loaded, just a fraction of an inch is visible in the opening above the handle. The mechanism that pushes the stick forward rests behind that opening. So you need a second stick to push against the first to begin dispensing glue, then add another stick whenever the last one almost disappears into the barrel. If you plan to frequently switch between glue types, it would be easier and more economical to use a separate gun for each type. Glue sticks shouldn't be remove once started. To change glue type, you squeeze the leftover glue out the tip, using the new stick to push it through. The bond it creates is a bit like sticking things together with melted candle wax -- just harder and with a higher melting point. Good on porous materials that will partially absorb the glue. It will firmly attach non-porous surfaces as well, but with some effort you can pull them apart and pull off the glue, leaving no residue. what a great glue gun (hot) good quality with very little waste, great quality, well made! Despite it's claim that it has a no-drip tip; I'm here to tell you that this sucker drips. As long as a glue stick is in the chamber and the unit is on, it will drip and continue to do so until turned off and allowed to cool. Other than the aforementioned, I like it's duel temp feature and low price. Does not come with any glue sticks :( This glue gun works very well. I am always finding something that needs to be glued. I glued a piece of a glass to a piece of wood and could not pull them apart. The uses are endless. I am very satisfied with this purchase. Average Rating:![]() |

3M Scotch ATG700 Adhesive Applicator Yellow For 1/2 Inch and 3/4 Inch TapeReviewsBigger than expected but adheres much better and doesn't mess up like the little adhesive despensers. This is a great product for golf flag mounting for shadow boxes and also for crafts. As a DIY Bride I decided to make my own wedding invitations. I originally bought those little dispensers sold at the local craft stores to paste a backing and my invitation cardstock into a pocketfold. BIG MISTAKE! After completing close to 70 invitations which took me hours I was horrified to see that the cardstock was not sticking to the pocketfold and all the invitations were falling apart. I was trying to "save" money with those little dispensers. I wish I would have originally bought this dispenser, the one that the manufacturer of my invitation paper recommends. This dispenser is not cheap by any means but is is well worth it. As I write this I am re-doing all the invitations I had done before and they are sticking like a dream. It is so easy to use and I found a video online that shows you how to load the tape. Do not waste your time with those little dispensers if you are working with high quality and heavy cardstock. This dispenser has been a God send for me. I went through hundreds of tiny "refillable" glue and tape cartridges. As a hobby I make wedding and baby invitations on [...]. The tiny tape cartridges were breaking the bank and my profit margain. I invested in one of these tape guns, and it was the best decision. It made mass production or large projects so much easier. It's tricky to get the hang of, especially re-filling it with tape!! One suggestion I have is that when you buy the refill tape, don't buy the generic kind...BUY SCOTCH brand refill tape. You can tell the difference in the quality of the tape. I highly recommend this for any serious scrapper! i used this for my wedding invitations and it made things soooo much easier. refilling the tape was very easy. i strongly recommend. Kawasaki 840015 Black 10-Piece Heat Gun KitReviewsI purchased this tool to use mainly for heating hockey stick shafts to attach and remove stick blades. This worked perfectly for that task! I burned out two of my wife's hair driers over the last year, so it was time to move up to a real tool for the job. I also expect that when the time comes to remove varnish or glue etc from wood, this tool will perform. For the price and accessories with case, you can't beat it! It does not seem as hot as my old Wagner, but that could be better as it is less likely to burn the wood but seems slower to strip paint. I think this is because the fan flows more air. The heater element gets red hot. higher air flow means less time for the air to heat up. But this also means it may keep the burner lasting longer. Gain one thing, lose something else. It feels like a quality item and comes with nice accessories. I am a guitarist of 15 years and I've done just about every mod on a guitar that can be done (some times quite handily, other times not so much). On a recent rebuild of a '98 MIM Strat, I found that there was nearly 3/16" of paint and sealer between the top coat and the bare wood. I tried all kinds of paint removal methods, from physical sanding and scraping to chemical removers (some mild, as well as others which would make you grow a third arm upon purchase). There was no solution that would remove this level of coating with any degree of efficiency. Enter the Kawasaki heat gun, my new partner in crime. After heating up the gun and applying it to the guitar body, the paint instantly bubbled up and was removable in just a few gentle passes of a putty knife. The sanding sealer on the body was a bit more stubborn, but even that relented to the overwhelming effectiveness of this heat gun. When I got done this afternoon, I was astonished that the product worked as effectively as it did while costing me next to nothing. Even with shipping, the asking price of this unit is extremely fair. This heat gun is strong, reliable, effective, and easily purchased. It was just perfect for the job I was doing. One thing I will mention to guitarists specifically and woodworkers in general: use discretion with this tool. Less is more. This thing is easily hot enough to burn wood, and I had a few minor char marks on my guitar body to prove it. This wasn't an immediate concern for me, as after sanding and painting the body everything was okay, but be warned, this thing is potent. If you need a heat gun for occasional projects, I challenge you to beat the value of this product. If you use it every day, it may not be as palletable, but all the same for my purposes this tool is great. Ceramic pieces inside of unit are very brittle and become detached with use. Pieces find their way into the fan mechanism and jam the motor so the fan will not rotate. The unit is useless at this point. Mine lasted three or four uses over six months. I purchased this heat gun for sole purpose of shrinking plastic shrink tube for electronics. It get heat quicking and works effectly, however, I was suprised how BIG this gun is. It's about the size of my wife's blow dryer. It really is intended for large heat gun jobs like stripping and brazing. For the price, I'm happy with it though. Average Rating:![]() |

HomeRight C800552 Heat Pro Deluxe 10-piece Hot Air Tool KitReviewsFirst i Thought i had a bad one... Alright, So I just went and it TURNED ON! WooooW! It works. Not so bad... If you get this and make sure after you get done using it you turn the temp ALLL the Way Down, And let it Run for a Minute Before you Turn it Off. If you don't let it cool off it'll probably not live so long. I took off the black plastic on the front cause it served no purpose and made the thing stay hotter. I'll Keeep you All Updated PeEEAce! This heat Pro worked fantastic on geetin wax off of my fire place brick. All homes need this/ I've had this product for about a week now and I'm very happy happy with it. I bought it mainly because it is much cheaper than comparable products from B&D or Dremel and it hasn't let me down. Works great for stripping paint and using heatshrink on computer power supply cables. the first unit arrived and the heat indicator lamps did not come on. on first use of the replacement unit, after about ten minutes the fan stopped. the heat was set to fairly high and did not go off. some smoke. i assume there is a safety thermostat that would have kicked in, but without the fan the coils glowed for a while. it may be a bad batch - but there seems to be no quality control at all. I bought the heat gun for one job only, reflowing solder. I'm sure I will have other uses for it in the future. It works just fine and I don't have any real complaints. The price is right and I feel satisfied that I got what I paid for... no more... no less. I would have liked better documentation and I still have no clue what most of the attachments are for. Some typical applications would have been useful. Also, the LED indicators serve no real purpose. They don't exactly correspond to the temperature dial in the back and the product would have been just as good without them. It seems like they threw them in there for marketing purposes and not for functionality. The dial in the back is what I look at to figure out what temperature I'm set for. If you need a heat gun that has accurate temperature readouts, this is not the one for you. Look for one with a LCD (liquid crystal display), not LEDs (light emitting diode). If you are like me, you don't care for extremely accurate temperature readings and don't want to pay a lot, then I would recommend this item for you. I hope that helps! Average Rating:![]() |

Dremel 1200-01 Glue Gun KitReviewsDespite what many of the negative reviews here say... the no-drip tip works just fine! It drips a tiny bit, just one glob the size of a BB. That's fine by me, and if you're patient you can usually get that tiny drip onto what you're working on, anyway. It heats up very quickly (a minute or two), and the light is useful (though it is odd that it is underneath, not on top, of the tip). All in all it's a very simple and effective product. bought this brand of glue gun first because of the name and second because of the price, sadly the description of it being dripless was so false having owned different glue guns in the past for my business, it was time to replace, so i did some research and this model just stood out from the rest. could not believe the amount of glue it drips when just idle or warming up, unlike any other glue guns i have owned! sadly to say , because the brand name is so recognized for such great products, not this on! I thought the gun would be great as the Dremel brand is generally good stuff, but the trigger lever is connected with only about a sixteenth of an inch of plastic and soon snaps leaving you with no choice to push the glue stick through with your other hand---that is until you replace the gun and throw it in the trash. The anti drip feature doesn't really work at all. I bought it to replace my old Stanley GR25, which I'm going back to. Even when the Dremel 1200 is use as directed, gobs of glue continue to pour out and makes a mess of the project. The old Stanley stopped instantly with no residue drip. I give this a 2 star rating because, the light at the tip is a great feature and the glue gun is comfortable in your hand. The main problem is that this glue gun uses more glue after you use it than when your using it. IT DRIPS GLUE LIKE NO OTHER. Glue sticks are expensive so spend your money on a surebonder or something else. Average Rating:![]() |

Many glue guns get the job done for serious crafters and DIY'ers, but only the Dremel 1200 Glue Gun has taken the hassle out of this popular tool. The anti-drip tip of the Dremel Glue Gun reduces glue drip for a cleaner work area and wastes less glue... |

Glue Gun Decor: How to Dress Up Your Home-from Pillows and Curtains to Sofas and LampshadesReviewsMany great projects to get your creative juices going. Photography was excellant; was able to enjoy beauty of pieces but not too artsy to interfer with point of the book. I've now found a new textile art to add to my passion. I saw the author Marion McEnvoy on an Oprah episode and thought this woman was amazingly creative with her simple glue gun tool. Most arts and crafts books have very traditional projects, so I never buy them. This one is not. The glue gun projects finish to look like something that you would find in Elle Decor. I just wish the book had more ideas because it's limited with projects; but for the price, it's good for inspiration. The decor used in this book looks like the 70's era. It's too outdated for me. I was expecting more. I have so many ideas I've wanted to try, but felt stymied by the sewing part. Now Marian McEvoy's book shows that a glue gun can work on furniture, curtains and other home projects. Glue guns are not just for crafts anymore. There are holiday ideas too in the book. Other books on the topic include Wild with a Glue Gun and La Casa Loca: Latino Style Comes Home: 45 Funky Craft Projects for Decorating and Entertaining. I recently needed to repair a library chair that my cat has made a nasty scratch on. I was going to have the chair professionally reupholstered until I saw Marian McEvoy on The Oprah Winfrey Show. When I saw what she was doing with a glue gun and how she decorated her gorgeous home with one, it gave me an idea that I could fix my precious chair with a glue gun and some fabric. I ordered her book and was delighted to see that it was filled with projects that not only taught me how to cheaply make my chair look like new again, but also gave me inspiration to make my curtains look new, redo my old throw pillows and dress up my lampshades. If you like to redecorate often, this is a must-have book because it's all about redoing what you already have or how to buy affordable objects and room accessories and make them look unique and expensive. Wild With a Glue Gun: Getting Together With Crafty FriendsReviews* this is not a book on glue gun projects- the title is misleading * most of the projects are not very original - except for a couple of things- the copper tape frames, tin box art- but these projects are more fun for kids making bitsy things for their friends * the projects are not well explained- if you want step by step instructions with photos etc- this doesnt have that at all.. its a photo of final project with sometimes very general instructions on how to do them .. which is not good for young people despite the projects being very kiddy.. * where are those glue gun projects??? .. even the adhesive/product descriptions arent good. I picked up this book and couldn't put it down. But I'll make sure the glue gun doesn't leak all over my hands before I pick it up next time. Although I wouldn't want most of these items in my cellar, the IDEAS are quite innovative. I got lots of great ideas and basic directions to easily modify for wonderful gifts. I really liked it ... very warmly written and innovative It delivers just what it says it will. The projects are whimsical, have a wide ease and difficulty range, leave much to the imagination while inspiring your own creativity. I can't imagine what the previous reviewer expected to find and didn't. I've been very happy with the projects I have worked on so far and look forward to exploring more in the coming months. If you are interested in making junk then this is the book for you. Kids could have created better items than this. I cannot believe someone thought this would make a great book. Keep your money. Or buy it and use the paper to create even more junk. Average Rating:![]() |

Uncle Mikes Gun-Tite Md: 16310ReviewsI have a RAP T68 paintball marker. The trigger was a little lose so I decided I needed some kind of Loctite to keep it locked up and tight. I researched and found out that Gun Tite from Uncle Mike's is equivalent to Loctite blue, which is one level below red (which is permanent). I've used it and had it dry and it works great. The trigger is super tight. I haven't used it in game, but as far as just pulling the trigger for testing and test firing, it works well. I would recommend this if you need to get a bolt locked up or anything similar. Average Rating:![]() |
